Another day, another man for Lindsay Lohan, or so the rumours go. Heath Ledger is yesterdays news (apparently the two had a fling over Thanksgiving), and today it’s Paris Hilton’s ex, Stavros Niarchos.

Apparently Paris arrived at a Hollywood party wanting to hook up with her on/off love interest Stavros, but he had already left to go and hang out with Lindsay. Needless to say Paris was unimpressed by the incident, but on the plus side at least that’s one more name to strike off the Christmas card list.

As for Lindsay, she seems happy enough here, maybe that’s because she’s wearing a stylish leather jacket, rather than that trucker cap/snowboarder ensemble we’ve been seeing of late.

Nice hair too, maybe even a little Paris Hilton-esque pre-crop. Next thing you know she'll have dog-napped Tinkerbell and be calling Nicky Hilton 'sis. Watch out Paris!

Are Lindsay Lohan and Heath Ledger hooking up? That's what the claim is from a magazine from Australia. Lindsay has dumped her first post rehab love Riley Giles and has now moved on, the report claims. A source told Australia's New Weekly magazine that the Aussie hunk – who split in September from girlfriend Michelle Williams who is the mother of his two-year-old daughter, Matilda – were in a relationship, but said it is “purely physical.”

The chatty source claims that the pair "were meeting late at night for sex. It was purely physical." According to the magazine Lohan met Ledger in a New York nightclub over Thanksgiving.

Ledger recently split from fiancé Michelle Williams, who he has one daughter with. He has been linked to Kate Hudson, Helena Christensen and Heather Graham.

Lindsay Lohan has topped a new list of dumb celebrities.

The New York Daily News has judged stars based on their IQs, poor fashion choices and bad judgment.

And Lohan, who spent time in rehab and jail this year, was dishonored with the top spot for her "poor movie choices, delinquent behavior and bad taste in men."

The actress/singer beat The Hills star Spencer Pratt, Britney Spears, socialite Kim Kardashian and Transformers star Shia LaBeouf.

The top five on the Daily News' Dumbest People in Hollywood list are:

NEW YORK - Users of online auction site EBay wanted more of Britney Spears than Paris Hilton this year.

The number of Spears-related items sold at the online auction site totalled 34,345, compared with 27,377 items associated with Hilton, EBay said this week.

Items associated with Spears ranged from signed CDs to disposable lighters featuring her likeness. Among the Hilton-related items sold was a toothbrush claimed to have been found in the hotel heiress' trash.

Fragrances were the most popular product category sold for Spears and Hilton.

Both fared better than Lindsay Lohan. Her name was only associated with 8,099 items sold, according to EBay.

However, the three tabloid staples were all outslugged by baseball player Barry Bonds, who was pegged to 145,497 related items, including a grilled-cheese sandwich, which netted a winning bid of $30. The seller claimed Bonds' 756th home-run ball bounced off the sandwich in San Francisco's AT&T Park.

Among the searches for movie franchise-themed merchandise, "Transformers" crushed "Harry Potter" with 442,342 related items sold compared with the boy wizard's 344,825 related baubles. Not surprisingly, wares in the action-figure category made up 71 per cent of sales associated with the robots in disguise.

The data released by EBay is based on specific entertainment-related searches of items sold on the U.S. EBay site from Jan. 1 to Nov. 19, which included key terms in the listing title across all product categories.

EBay said it did not track how much money the items attracted.

BURLINGAME, CALIF. - One man's meat is another man's poison. Or, thanks to eBay, one celebrity's detritus is somebody else's windfall.

EBay (nasdaq: EBAY - news - people ) has just released its list of the best-selling kitsch from the past year. There are some real winners: a patch of grass upon which starlet Lindsay Lohan's car skidded sold for a modest $10.50. Then there was the grilled cheese sandwich that is fast becoming the stuff of urban legend: According to the story, the sandwich was bopped when San Francisco Giants' Barry Bonds whacked No. 756 out of the ballpark. Somebody apparently paid $30 to take home this American myth in the making.

But here's no myth: Literally millions of tchotchkes related to the likes of Paris Hilton, O. J. Simpson and Hillary Rodham Clinton sold on eBay this year.

A Paris Hilton-in-jail tribute doll sold for $46 on the online auction site. An O.J. Simpson rubber Halloween mask fetched $133.42. And who knew there was a Hillary Rodham Clinton Nutcracker doll? The nine-inch plastic doll "cracks the toughest nuts!" and has "stainless steel thighs!" according to the manufacturer. In one listing, a seller wrote: "Talk about functionality in a presidential candidate. Like her or not you have to admit she is one tough lady."

San Jose, Calif.-based eBay offered up sales statistics for eight pop culture categories, including Hollywood starlets, disgraced athletes, presidential candidates and tech gadgets.

EBay aficionados snapped up nearly 70,000 items related to Britney Spears, Hilton and Lohan this year. Starlets' branded lines of perfumes and colognes were the top sellers. More than 174,000 trading cards, T-shirts, caps and the like bearing the names or images of Barry Bonds and football player Michael Vick were sold.

Other big sellers were memorabilia and action figures based on characters in the hit movie Transformers and the Harry Potter franchise. All told, more than 787,000 such items were sold on the site.

In addition to Clinton's Nutcracker doll, campaign signs, buttons and other items connected to the presidential candidate sold briskly, as did similar items related to her competitor Barack Obama. More than 19,000 Clinton and Obama items were sold on eBay.

EBay also sold nearly 3 million iPods this year--the top-selling tech item--followed by a half-million items from Nintendo (other-otc: NTDOY - news - people ), including Wii game consoles and related items.

The great thing about eBay: There's always more. For those wracking their brains to find unusual items for the holidays, eBay is a wonder. A few Clinton Nutcrackers are still available.

Internet gossip says Lindsay Lohan is in talks to join Ugly Betty to play fallen beauty queen.

Lindsay Lohan's life has been put under the lens of a microscope (or, more accurately, the lens of the paparazzi) ever since the 21-year-old actress began overtly flaunting her hard-partying ways. The wild child has since been one of Hollywood's poster girls for out-of-control celebrities, drifting in and out of relationships with men, drugs, and rehab.

She may look prim and proper here, but is she wearing pants?
However, one good thing may come of her fall from being one of the industry's next big film stars to tabloid fodder--experience. If rumblings on the Internet prove true, Lohan may be able to look at the past few years of her life as source material for her next role.

Lohan is reportedly in "serious talks" with the producers of ABC's Ugly Betty to appear as a guest star on three episodes of the comedy, according to The New York Observer. Citing a "source on the set of Betty," the article says Lohan would play a former beauty queen who works at the fast-food restaurant that also employs Betty's dad.

"It sounds really cute," the source told Observer. "Betty tries to help Lindsay's character by getting her a job at Mode, the fashion magazine where she works on the show."

When asked about the rumor by TV.com, representatives from ABC kept their lips shut, simply saying, "No comment."

Though primarily a star of the big screen, Lindsay has dabbled in television, with credits on That '70s Show and King of the Hill.

Lindsay’s Deposition to be Filmed

Lindsay Lohan & her lawyer lost their plea to keep video tapes outside the court room during Lindsay Lohan’s deposition.

LA Superior Court Judge Michael L. Stern denied the bid to bar cameras in a ruling on Wednesday. Lindsay’s lawyer objected strongly on her behalf - he feels the video will be sold by one of the people who has access to it. And I do agree with him there.

"If a single picture of Ms. Lohan can sell for thousands of dollars, a videotape of the deposition will undoubtedly sell for tens of thousands of dollars, or more," her attorney, David J. Ozeran, wrote in court papers.

Ozeran says he believes the real purpose of videotaping is to "annoy Ms. Lohan and to attempt to gain a litigation advantage by causing her concern about the embarrassment of such a videotape.”

I hope they take precautions to prevent that tape from being sold! Not only is that a misuse of the legal system and an invasion of Lindsay’s privacy, but being on tape may influence how the proceedings go forward.

Lindsay’s deposition: will it be taped?

Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer has been fighting for some time to ensure that Lindsay Lohan’s deposition for the 2005 car accident be given behind closed doors. No cameras.

Legal papers were filed to this effect:

Lohan’s lawyer actually uses Britney Spears as legal precedent — go figure. The lawyer notes that the judge in Britney’s custody case recently rejected a request to videotape her depo. Lilo’s lawyer acknowledged the Brit ruling has no legal impact on his case but says "the point made…is significant," citing a "likelihood of unwarranted embarrassment."

Lindsay’s lawyer went on to say, "Any human being undergoing a two or three hour videotaped deposition is going to appear to do or say something awkward or embarrassing when that videotape is analyzed frame by frame."

The judge has yet to rule on whether the cameras will roll. Stay tuned.

Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer, after doing so well for her during the DUI hearings, has now pushed forward with the 2005 car crash.

Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer filed a 10-page brief last Friday in a move to dismiss all or part of the negligence suit against her for the Oct 4, 2005 car crash. The owner of the van, Ortega, hit claims that Lindsay was drunk - Lindsay’s lawyers are countering, saying that the man is calling her drunk in order to force a settlement. Just like Ortega’s lawyers are trying to call the police report "heresay."

Ortega sued Lohan and West Hollywood hotspot the Ivy on June 14 for at least $200,000 in damages, alleging in his complaint that the Georgia Rule star got tipsy during lunch at the celebrity watering hole and then, as she was looking over her shoulder and recklessly barreling north on Robertson Blvd., smashed into his vehicle with her Mercedes.

"These are nothing but inflammatory statements," Gerisch’s brief states. "The mere presence of this type of allegation in the complaint is an attempt to embarrass [Lohan] with false allegations in order to use it as a battering ram to force a settlement."

Once again, Gerisch cites the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s report on the incident, which states that alcohol was not a factor in the crash and that Ortega was at fault for hooking an illegal U-turn right in front of Lohan, who was referred to as an "innocent victim" at the time.

Ortega’s attorney, Robert G. Klein, has criticized Gerisch for using the police report as so-called evidence, calling the document hearsay. Klein stated in a recent court filing that he has witnesses who will testify that Lohan was speeding and was served alcohol "shortly before the accident."

Lindsay Lohan is pulling herself together after another traumatizing car accident involving a paparazzo.

Sources tell us a photographer chasing the 20-year-old actress rear-ended her black Mercedes near the corner of Olympic and La Cienega in L.A. around 2 a.m. yesterday.

"She was apparently able to drive a short distance from the crash," says a source. "But she later pulled over and called a friend to pick her up."

Lohan’s rep, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, confirmed the accident, but had no information on the "Bobby" star’s condition or whether she had filed a police report.

Earlier in the evening, Lohan was videotaped outside the hot spot Hyde, sitting in her car while talking to a "mystery man," according to TMZ.com. "La Lohan appeared a little upset and teary-eyed under a hooded shirt" before "speeding off, alone," the gossip site said.

Lohan was driving a black Benz in May 2005 when a photographer broadsided her with his minivan. Lohan suffered cuts and bruises, and her car was badly dented. Cops booked the lensman for assault, but authorities let him off after deciding he hadn’t rammed into her car intentionally.

Five months later, Lohan was speeding away from paparazzi and ran into another van that was making an illegal U-turn.

The first car accident helped spur lawmakers and the LAPD to crack down on stalkerazzi. But Lohan is among the photogs’ prime quarry.

In another recent wee-hours incident, a sobbing Lohan called police, alleging that two paparazzi had tried to hit her Cadillac Escalade. "She was being hounded," says Zelnik. "She called her mom and cried."

Friends fear she could end up like Princess Diana.

"I think Lindsay has been hounded by paparazzi more than most celebs," says Zelnik.

Lindsay Lohan surrendered herself to the Beverly Hills Police yesterday in connection with her DUI charge on May 26. Lindsay Lohan went to the hospital after her car-meets-curb crash for a minor chest injury - there, the police arrested her for driving under the influence. Since then, Lindsay Lohan has spent most of her time in rehab.

At 4pm yesterday, Lindsay Lohan and her attorney quietly (and without paparazzi on her tail) walked into the Beverly Hills PD to be officially arrested on her DUI charge. She was taken into custody and was booked 15 minutes later.

Lindsay Lohan was charged with "California Vehicle Code Sections 23152 (a) & (b)" for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level greater than .08 and with "California Vehicle Code Section 20002 (a)" for misdemeanor hit and run. .

Lindsay Lohan was released on her own recognizance an hour later - the norm for first time offenders - and is scheduled to appear in court on August 24.

A lot of sites are dramatizing this as Lindsay Lohan getting into trouble, but what she’s really doing is dealing with the process of her existing problems. Taking responsibility and doing it with dignity.

Lindsay Lohan was born in The Bronx and grew up in Merrick and Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island in New York. She is the eldest child of Michael Douglas Lohan Sr., a onetime actor, and former Rockette Donata "Dina" Sullivan. Lohan has three younger siblings, all of whom are budding actor-models: brother Michael Jr., whom Lindsay affectionately calls "Punk," appeared as the "Lost Boy at Camp" in her movie The Parent Trap (1998); sister Aliana had a small role in Lindsay's 2003 movie Freaky Friday...as did brother Dakota (Cody), the youngest Lohan child, whom Lindsay once saved from drowning. According to Lindsay herself, she has a superb relationship with her brothers and sister.

Lohan is of Irish and Italian heritage and was raised as a Catholic.[1] In 2005, Lohan explained to a TEENick audience that she had decided to use Morgan as her middle name because it sounded more professional.

Lohan—when she wasn't tutored on film sets—attended public schools on Long Island, including Sanford H. Calhoun High School[2]. She finished her studies at home[3] through Laurel Springs School[4] of Ojai, California.

Lindsay's family was financially comfortable. Her mother, Dina, was a Wall Street analyst before becoming Lohan's manager.[5] Dina also claimed that she worked as a Rockette, though Radio City Music Hall records have failed to verify this claim.[6][7]

Lindsay's father, Michael, inherited his family's pasta business, which he later sold to trade in futures (briefly becoming President of New York Futures Traders).[8] Sentenced to four years in prison in the late 1980s, Michael spent much of his daughter's preteen years in prison for securities fraud. More recently, Michael worked as an investment banker, securing funding for independent films. [9] In 2005, he was sent back to prison for nearly two years, released in March 2007, for "aggravated unlicensed driving" and attempted assault.[10][11] Michael currently works with Teen Challenge. [12]

In December 2005, Michael and Dina signed a separation agreement.[13] In August 2007, Lohan's parents announced that their divorce proceedings had been finalized.[14][15]

Personal life

Lohan has been a frequent attendee at various nightclubs and social events - at times being photographed with nightlife fixtures like Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. Responding to the media's portrayal of her as a "party girl", Lohan commented, "People say, 'Oh, she goes out and she parties'. No, we are just going out and having fun."[42]

Lohan's three car accidents in 2005 were widely reported. The first was a minor rear-ender, though the victims later threatened to sue her.[53] In the second, she suffered minor injuries when a paparazzo who was following her for a photograph hit her car. Police called the crash intentional, but prosecutors said there was not enough evidence to file criminal charges.[54] In the third, Lohan struck a van in West Hollywood. Police ruled that the van's driver made an illegal U-turn.[55] When VH1 named Lohan "Big 'It' Girl" for its 'Big' in '05 Awards in December, it was, Lohan quipped, "because being Big in '05 means getting in three car crashes in one year, people!".[56]

January 2006, Lohan went to hospitals twice. In the first incident, she cut herself on a broken teacup while in London; in the second incident, she suffered an asthma attack while in Miami.[57]

In an interview published in the March 2006 issue of Allure magazine, Lohan said she hoped to be taken seriously as an actress, adding, "I hate it when people call me a teen queen." She addressed the numerous romantic rumors ("I know now that I don't need a boyfriend.") and her weight loss ("I will say that I went through a phase. I lost weight when I was in the hospital, and then I wanted to keep it off."). Lohan said 2005 "felt like five lifetimes because I've grown up a lot".[58]At around the same time, she is reported as having looked into the teachings of Kabbalah Centre, saying, "All of us need something. You have to grab on to whatever gets you through."[59]

July 25, the filming of Georgia Rule was delayed while Lohan was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital for treatment of overheating and dehydration,[60] her third hospital visit in 2006. In a letter to Lohan and others associated with the production that was later made public, James G. Robinson, CEO of the film's production company, Morgan Creek Productions, wrote:

"You and your representatives have told us that your various late arrivals and absences from the set have been the result of illness; today we were told it was 'heat exhaustion'. We are well aware that your ongoing all night heavy partying is the real reason for your so-called 'exhaustion'."[61]
Lohan's fourth 2006 hospital visit occurred in September when Lohan was treated at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City after breaking her wrist.[62]

On January 18, 2007, Lohan checked herself in to the Wonderland Center[63] rehabilitation facility in West Hollywood's Laurel Canyon area. Through her representative, she issued a statement saying, "I have made a proactive decision to take care of my personal health."[64] In a later interview, Lohan said, "It's so weird that I went to rehab. I always said I would die before I went to rehab." But she added that, even after regularly attending meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous, "I don't know that I'm necessarily an addict."[65]

Lindsay Music career

Hoping to become a "triple threat" (actor/model/singer) like her idol, Ann-Margret, Lohan began by showcasing her singing talents through her films.[42] For the Freaky Friday soundtrack, she sang the closing theme, "Ultimate"; she also recorded four songs for the Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen soundtrack.

Producer Emilio Estefan, Jr. signed Lohan to a five-album production deal in 2002. "The minute I heard her sing, I knew she was gifted," he said, "and [she] has an incredible ability to connect with her audience. I am very excited to be working with her." Lohan—who said she was "extremely excited"—added, "I am surrounded by a group of very talented people."[43] Two years later, Lohan signed a recording contract with Casablanca Records, headed by "diva-maker" Tommy Mottola.

Speak

Lohan's debut album, Speak.Her debut album, Speak, was released in December 2004, and peaked at number four on the Billboard 200. By early 2005, it was certified Platinum. Though primarily a pop-rock album, Speak was introduced with the single "Rumors", described by Rolling Stone as "a bass-heavy, angry club anthem".[44] Its sexually suggestive video reached number one on MTV's TRL and was nominated for Best Pop Video at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards. "Rumors" eventually earned a Gold certification in America.

The album spawned the second single "Over" and the third single "First", which was featured in Lohan's 2005 film Herbie: Fully Loaded. The music video also featured Herbie the Love Bug. Both music videos were directed by Jake Nava, who also directed the music video for "Rumors."

"[W]ith just two hit films under her belt", wrote Stephen Thomas Erlewine of All Music Guide, "Lohan decided it was time to turn [herself] into a multimedia, cross-platform star ... and so Speak was recorded quickly and rushed into the stores". He called her music "a blend of old-fashioned, Britney-styled dance-pop and the anthemic, arena rock sound pioneered by fellow tween stars Hilary Duff and Ashlee Simpson. [However,] Lohan stands apart from the pack with her party-ready attitude and her husky voice".[45]

A Little More Personal (Raw)

A Little More Personal (Raw).In December 2005, her second album, A Little More Personal (Raw), debuted at number 20 on the Billboard 200 chart, but fell under the top 100 within six weeks. Reviews were unfavorable; critics wondered why an album in which Lohan poured out her heart came across instead as a "slick pop production."[46] Slant magazine called it "contrived ... for all the so-called weighty subject matter, there's not much meat on these bones."[47] Still, A Little More Personal (Raw) was certified Gold on January 18, 2006. The music video for the album's first single, "Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father)"—directed by Lohan and featuring the acting debut of her sister, Ali—was a dramatization of the pain Lohan says her family has suffered at the hands of her father.[48] She said "It's kind of offensive" but "I hope he sees the positive side of the video rather than the negative."

The album's second single was supposed to be "I Live for the Day." Radio promos singles were pressed and released and sent to radio stations. However due to Lohan's schedule, she was unable to promote or support the single as she did with her previous efforts. Eventually, since the single received absolutely no radio airplay or support, and the disappointing chart position and sales of the album, Casablanca Records decided it was best to cancel "I Live for the Day" and move forward with "If It’s Alright" as the second single. However plans for releasing "If It’s Alright" were later canceled, as well as all other singles and promotion with the album. Due to this, A Little More Personal (Raw) was not as successful as her previous album, Speak. A Little More Personal (Raw), with little promotion, was still certified gold by the RIAA on January 18, 2006 after debuting on the Billboard 200 at #20, while "Speak" went platinum after debuting at #4.

Untitled third studio album
Universal Music Group moved Lohan from Casablanca to Motown Records in February 2006.[49] In March, she told OK! magazine that she was writing lyrics for her third album, which she called "different [from] the first two".[50] The November 2006 edition of In Style reported a Christmas 2006 release, but it was pushed back.

In a May 2007 interview in Nylon, Lohan stated that she plans to record her third studio album in August 2007, saying "I want to do a tour like Madonna. [...] I want to do what Britney was doing. I want to work with Pharrell, Timbaland, and Justin Timberlake.".[51]

Lohan recently told MTV News that she will begin work on her third album in "June or July and take four months". The album is reported to be a new musical direction for Lohan, who is working with Maverick Records CEO Guy Oseary on an "urban pop" sound.[52] As of right now due to the recent events in Lohan's life, the release date is uncertain.

Lohan Acting career

Lohan's debut as an actress on Another World.Lohan began her career with Ford Models at age three and, at a time when blue-eyed blondes were in highest demand, the freckle-faced, auburn-haired child found little work as a fashion model.[16] She persisted and eventually appeared in more than 100 print ads for Toys "R" Us.[17] She also modeled for Calvin Klein Kids (usually with siblings Michael and Ali) and Abercrombie Kids. Through young adulthood, Lohan was featured in such diverse magazines as Vogue, Elle, Bliss (UK), Хай Клуб (High Club, Bulgaria), and Blenda (Japan).

Lohan's first auditions for television work did not go well; by the time she tried out for a Duncan Hines commercial, she told her mother that she would give up if she did not get the job.[16] She was hired, and Lohan went on to appear in over 60 commercials, including a Jell-O gelatin spot with Bill Cosby. Her ad work led to roles in soap operas, and she was already considered a show-business veteran[17] in 1996 when she landed the role of Alexandra "Alli" Fowler on Another World, "where she delivered more dialogue than any other ten-year-old in daytime serials" of the time.[18]

Lohan in dual roles in The Parent Trap (1998), her first feature film.Lohan gave up Another World for the big screen when director Nancy Meyers cast her to play the dual roles of the estranged twin sisters who try to reunite their long-divorced parents (Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson) in the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap. Hired in 1997 at age 10, Lohan was 11 when filming began in England and California (in Los Angeles and the Napa Valley). "I left school for eight months," she said. "When I came back, my friends [asked], 'Where'd you go?' I said, 'My family and I went on a long vacation.' Then the movie came out, and they were, like, 'Um, Lindsay? That's you in Parent Trap,' and I said, 'Oh, yeah. I also did this movie while we were gone.'"[9] Trap was well-received for a family comedy, bringing in US$92 million worldwide.[19] Film critic Janet Maslin found Lohan's dual performances so forceful "that she seems to have been taking shy violet lessons from Sharon Stone."[20] Critic Kenneth Turan called Lohan "the soul of this film as much as Hayley Mills was of the original, and … she is more adept than her predecessor at creating two distinct personalities".[21]

Signed by Disney to a three-film contract, Lohan was offered the role of Penny in Inspector Gadget but, after seven months' work on The Parent Trap, she turned it down.[5] Later, she starred in two original television movies, Life-Size (2000) (with Tyra Banks) and Get a Clue (2002). She also played Bette Midler's daughter in the first episode of the short-lived series, Bette (2000), but Lohan, then 14, quit when the production moved from New York to Los Angeles. In 2001, she hosted the ABC-TV commercial series commemorating Walt Disney's 100th birthday during a rebroadcast of The Parent Trap.

Following a brief hiatus, Lohan won a lead role in another Disney remake: Freaky Friday (2003), starring Jamie Lee Curtis. Through 2005, Friday was Lohan's biggest commercial film success, earning US$160 million worldwide.[22]

2004-2006
In 2004, Lohan was given the lead in two films, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (her first feature that was not a remake) and Paramount's Mean Girls, both released in 2004. Drama Queen was a modest success at the box office, grossing about US$30 million, but was a failure with critics. "Though still a promising star," Robert K. Elder wrote, "Lohan will have to do a little penance before she's forgiven for Confessions."[23]

That "penance" came with Mean Girls, her first PG-13 (and first non-Disney) film. Her breakout lead performance[24] pushed the critical and commercial hit to gross US$128 million worldwide, "cementing her status as the new teen movie queen," wrote Brandon Gray.[25] "Lohan dazzles us once more," said Steve Rhodes. "The smartly written script is a perfect match for her intelligent brand of comedy."[26] Mean Girls was scripted by Tina Fey and featured several alumni of Saturday Night Live; Lohan was asked to host the show three times, in 2004, 2005, and 2006.

In 2005, Lohan became the first living person to have a "My Scene Goes Hollywood" doll released by Mattel. She also voiced herself in the direct-to-DVD feature film based on the dolls.[27]

Lohan returned to Disney for Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005), the fifth film in the long-dormant Herbie series. Her rising popularity allowed her to choose from a wider variety of projects and, at age 19, Lohan felt Herbie would help her make the transition into more grown-up roles.[3] "In most of my other films, I was in high school," she said. "Here, [my character is] just out of college. It's nice to be able to do something that I think will be acceptable to the fan base I've accumulated from my Disney movies, but subconsciously they'll see me getting older and maturing."[28] Fully Loaded earned $144,146,816 worldwide.[29]

Her next film in wide release, Just My Luck, opened in May 2006 to poor reviews and earned only $38 million worldwide.[30] The following month, A Prairie Home Companion, in limited release ended its run with $25,648,948 globally.[31] "Lohan rises to the occasion," wrote Peter Travers, "delivering a rock-the-house version of 'Frankie and Johnny'."[32] Lohan completed filming the independent Emilio Estevez film, Bobby, opposite Elijah Wood, in December 2005; the film débuted at the Venice Film Festival on September 5, 2006, and was released in theaters on November 23, 2006, though it earned a weak $19,560,892 worldwide with mixed reviews. Chapter 27 with Jared Leto began filming in New York on January 9, 2006, and had wrapped by March. No release date has been announced.

Lohan was voted #10 on the list of "100 Sexiest Women" by readers of FHM.[33] Maxim placed her at #3 on its 2006 Hot 100 list.[34] In 2007, Lohan placed at #1 on the Maxim "Hot 100".[35][36]

2007-present
In February 2007, shortly after admitting herself to a medical rehabilitation facility, Lohan relinquished the role of Hester Worsley in a film adaptation of Oscar Wilde's A Woman of No Importance to focus on her health. The role then passed to Jessica Biel.[37]

On May 11, 2007, Georgia Rule was released in which Lohan starred alongside Felicity Huffman and Jane Fonda. The film — whose production received adverse publicity when a letter from a studio executive to Lohan criticizing her professionalism was made public — received mostly negative reviews. It grossed US$6.7 million at the box office in its opening weekend and to date has grossed over US$22 million worldwide.

On July 24, 2007, Lohan - in the wake of her arrest withdrew from a scheduled appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to promote her starring role as a stripper in the film I Know Who Killed Me. On its opening weekend, the film was #9 at the box office — grossing $3.5 million.[38]

She also withdrew from the independent film Poor Things.[39]

Entertainment Weekly quoted the head of a major film studio as saying, "Her career was over long before she had these troubles... Right now, she'd have to pay a studio to get herself into a movie."[40] The article continues, "There's the L.A. bar scene that serves underage stars and Hollywood's compulsion to turn child actors into products, plus a frenzied 21st-century media culture that has made Lohan and other celebs into exotic prey in flashbulb cages." James Robinson, the producer of Georgia Rule, has stated he would still like to work with her. "She's a good person who's making some bad choices. She needs time to get the proper medical care, but when she's in the right emotional state, I'd put her in a movie right away.... She's probably one of the most talented young women in the movie business today."

Returning to Hollywood could mean potential relapse for her addictions, so Lohan will travel and study in Europe after leaving rehab. Lohan is keen to venture away from America for her education, according to her mother Dina, telling Us Weekly: "She wants to go abroad and study in school. We'll see what happens." [41]
